Daily Real Estate News | August 13, 2009

Bank of America Corp. will take over servicing of loans held by Taylor, Bean & Whitaker Mortgage Corp., which closed its doors on Wednesday.

Homeowners who are unable to pay their mortgages through the Taylor Bean Web site or over the phone, or who can’t learn the status of loan modifications or refinancing, can reach a Bank of America help line through this U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Web site.

Lawyers for Taylor Bean said Thursday in a federal court filing in the Northern District of West Virginia that the lender will file bankruptcy.

Taylor Bean was the nation’s twelfth largest home mortgage lender, according to Inside Mortgage Finance.
