Treasury Secretary Says Preserve Borrowing

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said Sunday on ABC’s "This Week" that he thought it was unlikely that the economy would slip back into recession, although repairing the housing finance system was still a priority.
We have to bring to Fannie and Freddie, to the GSEs (government-sponsored enterprises)
and to the broader housing finance market a better set of policies to make sure we can deliver
affordable financing ... without leaving the economy vulnerable to this kind of crisis,
he said.
Geithner said he believed the housing market needed some kind of government guarantee so people have the ability to finance a home even in a recession.
